On 2 February, a Films Diplomacy (FD) delegation, led by its President Mr. Raheel Ahmad and Chief Political Advisor Mr. Murat Emir Kaya, paid an official visit to Ms. Evgenia Bortkevich, Consul General of the Republic of Belarus, following her gracious invitation. The meeting provided an opportunity to strengthen bilateral cultural relations and explore new avenues for collaboration through cinema, youth engagement, and public diplomacy.

The discussions focused on encouraging the active participation of Belarusian youth delegates, filmmakers, actors, cultural professionals, and public universities in the upcoming Films Diplomacy Conference 2026 (FDC'26) in Istanbul. Both sides also exchanged perspectives on advancing the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, emphasizing the importance of cultural diplomacy, education, and international cooperation in addressing shared global challenges and fostering greater understanding between societies.

The meeting reaffirmed a shared commitment to promoting dialogue, youth empowerment, and cross-cultural collaboration through the universal language of film. Films Diplomacy extends its sincere appreciation to Ms. Evgenia Bortkevich and the Consulate General of the Republic of Belarus for their warm hospitality, valuable insights, and continued support for initiatives that strengthen international cooperation, cultural exchange, and peace through cinema.
