Films Diplomacy Meets the Consul General of the Philippines

On 6 February, a Films Diplomacy (FD) delegation, led by its President Mr. Raheel Ahmad and Chief Political Advisor Mr. Murat Emir Kaya, paid an official visit to Ms. Christina Rola-McKernan, Consul General of the Republic of the Philippines, following her gracious invitation. The delegation was also warmly received by Ms. Mika Ros, Vice Consul General of the Republic of the Philippines. The meeting provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen bilateral cultural relations and explore new avenues for cooperation through cinema, education, and public diplomacy.
The discussions focused on encouraging the active participation of Filipino youth delegates, filmmakers, actors, cultural professionals, and public universities in the upcoming Films Diplomacy Conference 2026 (FDC'26) in Istanbul. Both sides also exchanged perspectives on advancing the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, highlighting the role of cultural diplomacy, youth engagement, and storytelling in promoting international understanding and addressing shared global challenges.
The meeting reaffirmed a shared commitment to strengthening cultural exchange and people-to-people diplomacy through the universal language of film. Films Diplomacy extends its sincere appreciation to Ms. Christina Rola-McKernan, Ms. Mika Ros, and the Consulate General of the Republic of the Philippines for their warm hospitality, valuable insights, and continued support for initiatives that foster dialogue, international cooperation, and peace through cinema.
