Films Diplomacy Meets TÜGVA to Promote Youth Engagement and Social Impact Through Cinema

A Films Diplomacy (FD) delegation, led by its President Mr. Raheel Ahmad and Chief Political Advisor Mr. Murat Emir Kaya, paid an official visit to Mr. İbrahim Beşinci, President of the Türkiye Youth Foundation (TÜGVA), following a kind invitation from the Foundation's leadership. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas on empowering young people through culture, storytelling, and meaningful civic engagement.
The discussions focused on the growing importance of digital social awareness and the role of cinema in addressing pressing global issues, including human rights, children's rights, and the power of storytelling in shaping public consciousness. Both sides explored how creative media can inspire positive social change while encouraging greater youth participation in cultural and educational initiatives.
The delegation also shared the vision for the upcoming Films Diplomacy Conference 2026 (FDC'26) in Istanbul, highlighting its mission to bring together filmmakers, diplomats, policymakers, and young leaders from around the world. Particular emphasis was placed on fostering youth engagement and promoting socially responsible cinema as a catalyst for dialogue, cultural understanding, and international cooperation.
