Films Diplomacy Meets the Consul General of Mexico to Advance Cultural Diplomacy

On 4 March, a Films Diplomacy (FD) delegation, led by its President Mr. Raheel Ahmad and Chief Political Advisor Mr. Murat Emir Kaya, paid an official visit to Mr. Alberto Fierro, Consul General of the Republic of Mexico, following his gracious invitation. The meeting provided an important opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations and explore new possibilities for collaboration through cinema, cultural exchange, and public diplomacy.

The discussions focused on the growing significance of public and cultural diplomacy in fostering mutual understanding and building stronger connections between societies. Both sides exchanged ideas on encouraging the active participation of Mexican youth delegates, filmmakers, actors, cultural professionals, and public universities in the upcoming Films Diplomacy Conference 2026 (FDC'26) in Istanbul.

The conversation also highlighted the role of storytelling in promoting intercultural dialogue, empowering young leaders, and strengthening people-to-people engagement.
