On 3 March, a Films Diplomacy (FD) delegation, led by its President Mr. Raheel Ahmad and Chief Political Advisor Mr. Murat Emir Kaya, paid an official visit to Ms. Seo Jung Kim, Vice Consul General of the Republic of Korea, following her gracious invitation. The meeting provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen cultural ties and discuss new avenues for collaboration through cinema and public diplomacy.
The discussions focused on the growing role of public and cultural diplomacy in fostering mutual understanding and strengthening international cooperation. Both sides exchanged ideas on encouraging the active participation of Korean youth delegates, filmmakers, actors, cultural professionals, and public universities in the upcoming Films Diplomacy Conference 2026 (FDC'26) in Istanbul. The conversation also highlighted the importance of empowering young people and promoting intercultural dialogue through the universal language of film.
The meeting reflected a shared commitment to advancing cultural exchange and building lasting partnerships that connect societies beyond traditional diplomacy. Films Diplomacy sincerely appreciates Ms. Seo Jung Kim and the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea for their warm hospitality, valuable insights, and continued support for initiatives that promote dialogue, cultural understanding, and peace through cinema.
